Farewell Doug

It was odd at first, hearing Doug on the phone with Brian, "I'll be out in 2 or 3 days." To see Brian believe it.

Not long after, Work Out viewers had a chance see him take the news. Doug was not okay. And to see a grown man break down like that, is difficult. The group was shocked.

I understand now why Bravo and Jackie kept this so quiet. They were merely being true to Doug's wishes. Jackie said it best, "None of us knew how sick he was. And he did not want any of us there. He wanted us to remember him as the vibrant, happy man that he was."

The rest..

Jackie's trip home did more for her than she realized. She was able to talk with her mom. I think the biggest break through was the fact that Jackie allowed her mom to be her mom. To comfort, console, and support her as mother's only know how. Jackie's right, until she mends that relationship, it'll be difficult to have a successful and meaningful relationship with another woman. It's true for all of us.

Does anyone know the cause of his death? I understand everyone respecting his privacy and wishes. He just seemed so healthy and young and for all of this to happen so quick is scary. What a sad loss seemed like a very good person .

It's extremely sad. I think that by keeping Doug's illness and quiet, Bravo, Work Out and Jackie have created more intrigue.

It was eerie when Doug made that comment in Episode 204, that this would be the last birthday he'd celebrate.
