Rumors: The May 1st episode of Work Out Season 2 will bring bad news

Fans of the show are aware that Doug Blasdell, one of the most endearing trainers on Work Out, passed away in January. It's been a difficult task trying to find information on what happened, how he passed, and why the show and Bravo are mum on the subject.

To be honest, I admire and respect the fact that Jackie and Bravo have decided not to capitalize on such a tragic situation. Most folks, when given time in the limelight, would fork over the details for ratings. But not Jackie. Not Bravo. I for one admire that. Kudos.

What's not surprising, however, is the affect the silence has had to loyal viewers. It's not confirmed of course, but I believe the decision by Jackie to not exploit Doug's untimely passing, has actually increased the show's viewership. I know I've been glued to my tv each Tuesday night in hopes of finding out what actually happened to dear Doug, all the while knowing the end. An eerie feeling I'm sure you all are familiar with.

Well, tomorrow night's episode will bring all this to light. The Sky Lab team will get some bad news. And the public will finally here the words we've been waiting for. "He's gone." Why is it that, knowing what has happened, we are still anxious and enthralled by this? I'm sure it's different for some. For me, after getting to know the Sky Lab team, I want to see how they dealt with it. How they reacted. I know. It's selfish isn't it. But it's true. Funny how I didn't even know Doug, but I want to have the opportunity to say goodbye.

C'mon Jackie..let us have it!

Is anybody else out there curious about what Jackie puts in her signature health shake? I am. I've looked all over the place and can't find the recipe. I've also heard rumors that she'll be selling it, or something like that, because of the demand.

Now that I have my Bowflex, I've set up my workout routine and am working on eating plan. I'll be starting this Monday and would like to include Jackie's shake in the mix. So, if anybody knows where I can find the recipe for Jackie Warner's health shake, click on the little "Comments" link below, and be nice enough to share. Pretty please.

Thanks for the kick in the arse Erika!

On Tuesday's episode, Erika honed in on Meaghan Murphy, Star magazine reporter, ""Your body is the only thing you have and if you don't take it seriously, how on earth are you going to do anything else?" And, you know what? It hit a nerve.

I put in an order for the beauty of a home gym, the Bowflex Xtreme 2. It's not the newest model, but it is an excellent piece of machinery and won't break my budget. I can't wait to use it and start taking advantage of the fact that I have a healthy body. I've been blessed with good health and I've been taking it for granted. So, thanks Erika. You gave me that last little nudge I needed to get my *ss in gear.

In appreciation for the show, I'm going to use this blog not only as a place to write my thoughts about the show, but as a place to track and journal my goals to a better, healthy me. Wish me luck!

Blast those quads the Zen way

Looks can be deceiving. When you first see Zen Gray and hear her speak, you think, 'what a nice gal.' Well, think again.

Check out this training clip of Zen taking Gregg through a quad-blasting routine. She's a nice girl alright, but she'll kick your *ss if she has to.

Make him work girl! C'mon!

Erika never looked so good

This was definitely the episode that brought the best of Erika to the forefront. Not that I've never noticed her before, but this time we got to know her a little better. I always thought she was a beautiful woman, and is. But, now I see her as a professional and as someone who I would love to have kick my *ss in the gym.

Check out Erika's thoughts about this episode.

Okay, now I'm sure everyone's trying to figure out why Jackie didn't go ballistic on Steve. But, Jackie, being the professional she is, did the right thing. You'll find in her blog that she did 'sever' the relationship off camera. How's that for class?

Motivational episode--go Jackie!

Jackie served up a big dish of inspiration and motivation to the everyday Jane. To say that her leadership qualities are evident in this episode is an understatement. Jackie, you truly are a person who cares about what you do and the people you do it for. You are fabulous girl!

Jesse on the other hand, needs to get a grip. Dude, get over yourself and your selfish, needy crap. Jackie has enough pressure as it is, and to have to babysit a grown man is not something she needs. I think it's sad that he's the only gay man on the show now, and this is the way he has decided to act. Man, he is really getting annoying. Ugh.

On another note, where was Doug in this episode. I find it odd that in the midst of his apparent medical crisis, the team goes off to the mountains while one of their own is lying in the hospital. What's the deal?

Oh, and Rebecca is still hot! You go girl!

Torn between two lovers

We all know the scoop. Jackie is having some fun, with Tiffany and with Rebecca. And man, they are both hot!

If you had to pick between the two ladies, who would you rather see with Jackie? Tiffany or Rebecca?

Wish List Thursday

The team at Sky Sport and Spa is one that inspires excellence in the area of physical fitness and nutrition. After speaking with a co-worker about the show and, more specifically, the trainers and Sky Sport, we had a desire for something similar here in the Midwest. A gym that actually takes your specific needs and idiosincracies and pairs you up with the trainer that will get the most out of you. Sadly, most gyms and personal trainers don't go through the selection process thoroughly, if at all.

So, today, on Wish List Thursday, the question will be posed to all you The Workout fans who don't live anywhere near the Los Angeles metro area:

If you lived in L.A., and had the resources to enlist the services of the professionals at Sky Sport and Spa, which trainer would you want to lead you to a more fit and healthy tomorrow?

I think they all have exceptional qualities and the ability to bring out one's innermost desires to live a healthier more active lifestyle. But, for me, I would love to be paired with Jackie. Not because she's the star or owner, but because I like to get my a** kicked when I train. And, someone I respect as a trainer would be ideal. I don't care about how pretty you are. I want someone who is going to push me to a place I never thought I could reach.

So, if you had a choice, who would you pick?

Rebecca's Day Off -- Bravo's most watched video

Rebecca's Day Off Part 1 is Bravo's most watched video. It's a short clip featuring Rebecca taking Jackie to her favorite sushi bar in Los Angeles. Apparently, Rebecca has a sushi addiction.

Doug Blasdell Outreach Program

The Workout fans all over the country now know that trainer Doug Blasdell passed away in January. Tuesday's episode brought this to forefront toward the end of the show. There was much speculation about what happened to him and why details of his passing haven't been released. The sad fact is that he is gone. I will miss his warm smile that greeted viewers of the show.

In light of what has happened over the course of a few months, an organization has been established in his memory known as the Doug Blasdell Outreach Program. It is hosted by the Los Angeles City College Foundation and donations to the organization will help fund student scholarships, Gay and Lesbian awareness programs, HIV educational material and more. If you'd like more information about the program, visit www.douglasblasdell.org or select the link from the column to the right.

3% Body Fat, 97% Drama, 100% New!

Tuesday night's show definitely echoed the tagline for the show. With all the action Jackie was getting and the news about Doug, one would hardly believe it's a show about working out.

What is Jackie thinking?! You've got 2 hot women, they're both vying for your love. Well, one thing's for sure, Jackie, you rock it girl! Andre needs to get over his testerone overload and take some notes.

Anyway, I'm sure there's quite a bit that gets lost in the editing, but it seemed that Rebecca was unaware of the relationship Jackie has with Tiffany, and vice versa. We can all play Monday morning quarterback and analyze Jackie's behavior, right or wrong. Jackie was caught up in the moment, and, after witnessing the crap relationship Jackie had with Mimi, Jackie wants some love and someone that actually cares about her needs.

Still, one has to question Jackie's ability as a leader when she openly pursues an employee. It's wrong on all levels, and frankly, Jackie should know better. Just because you are the boss, doesn't mean you are exempt of business protocol. It's weird enough when co-workers date. That's my $0.02 on that issue. But, really, can you blame her, Rebecca is freakin' hot!

On a sad note, hearing about Doug's condition broke my heart. I didn't even know the guy, but Bravo has done an excellent job in making viewers feel like they are a part of the Sky Sport family. Of all of the trainers in the show, Doug seemed like the most sincere, compassionate one of all. He didn't create drama for the sake of it. He wasn't concerned about his public persona and ego. And, he thoroughly cared about this clients and co-workers. My prayers go out to the Sky Sport family.

Next week..
Jackie takes the crew on a trip. Jesse and Rebecca get into it.
